Chiropractic at the Haitian United Nations Military Base by Peter H. Morgan, DC

God has provided me so many blessings in my 28-year career as a chiropractor. One of my many blessings has been the ability to coordinate and lead 59 Humanitarian Chiropractic Mission trips over the past eleven years. I have been privileged to witness many chiropractic miracles. I have had the honor to be called upon to help a nation after one of the worst earthquakes in man’s history. Astonishingly I was able to witness another first in chiropractic during our June 2013 mission trip to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Our team of 45 chiropractors and chiropractic students had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at the URUBATT 2, Haiti United Nations military base. We also had the opportunity to examine and adjust the entire 395 Uruguay military personal stationed at this base. Some of our team also stayed at our Mission Life International Chiropractic Orphanage in Haiti. We had the opportunity to teach Straighten up America to the Codevi factory supervisors. Codevi is a company situated in Haiti who manufacture clothing for Calvin Klein, Lee Jeans, and Timberland shoes just to name a few. Codevi employs over 10,000 Haitian citizens. We examined and adjusted many of these employees. We have been approached to create the largest chiropractic research study ever performed.

Our chiropractic team of 45 consisted of chiropractors from the USA, 21 students from Barcelona Chiropractic College and 14 students from Life Chiropractic College. Peter H. Morgan, DC, WCA Board of Governors, President Mission Life International, International committee officer IFCO, DPI/NGO Chiropractic Representative to the United Nations, Past President NY Chiropractic Council; Gary Deutchman, DC, President Scoliosis Care Foundation, Vice President Mission Life International, DPI/NGO Chiropractic Representative to the United Nations, Past District President NY Chiropractic Council and Stephen Simonetti, DC, Vice President Mission Life International, DPI/NGO Chiropractic Representative to the United Nations, Past President Congress of State Chiropractic Organizations, Past President NY Chiropractic Council led this Historic Mission trip to Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Our Chiropractic team leaves Haiti after 4 days of service to serve chiropractic for 4 more days in the Dominican Republic.

We hire a group of dedicated Dominican chiropractic advocates to tell people the chiropractic story in the weeks before we arrive. We are on TV and radio, days before we arrive. We tell the chiropractic story to 50 pastors and priests throughout the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. When we arrive at the churches thousands of people line up waiting to be adjusted. At the schools we teach Straighten Up America and we check all the children. Our team sees approximately 6,000 people a day. 6,000 people a day for 8 days. We not only check and adjust the people, we tell the chiropractic story to groups of 50 at a time. This is some awesome and fun work. Giving for the sake of giving, giving out of our own abundance. Using the blessing that God bestowed upon us. “Our healing hands”.

Now I am back in New York. I am reminded by daily phone calls and e-mails from Haiti. Plea’s of “ Please don’t forget us!! Please help us!! Please, please. I am awakened in the middle of the night. A nightmare? No a Haitian reality. My chiropractic mission stories are numerous. 59 mission trips. I will write them all. It takes time. Thank you to all the people who have donated to our Mission Life International orphanage over these last three years. Your donations provide food, clothing, education, love and chiropractic to our children who lost everything in the 2010 Earthquake. Thank you to the 2,500 chiropractors that have joined me over the last 11 years on these 59 chiropractic mission trips
